Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 June 2026

Template notice: this is a starting-point draft. Have it reviewed by legal counsel and fill in the bracketed details (legal entity, jurisdiction) before relying on it.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Parfeed website and exchange-rate API (the "Service"), operated by [Your Legal Entity] ("Parfeed", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Parfeed provides foreign-exchange reference rates sourced directly from central banks, delivered via a REST API and dashboard. Rates are the figures published by the issuing authorities; we normalise and redistribute them but do not alter their values. We do not provide financial, investment, accounting, or legal advice, and the rates are provided for informational use.

2. Accounts & acceptable use

You are responsible for your account, API keys, and all activity under them. Keep your keys secret. You may not resell or redistribute the raw data in a way that competes with the Service, abuse rate limits, attempt to bypass access controls, or use the Service unlawfully.

3. Plans, billing & quotas

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor (Stripe). Your plan determines how many central banks you may access and your rate limits. Prices may change with notice; changes take effect at your next billing cycle. You authorise recurring charges until you cancel.

4. Cancellation & refunds

You may cancel at any time from your dashboard's billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Monthly fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable, except where required by law. We may, at our sole discretion, issue refunds for billing errors or other genuine circumstances. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in suspension.

5. Availability & data accuracy

We work to keep the Service reliable and the data accurate, but the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Source availability depends on third-party central banks; we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Verify rates against the official source where accuracy is critical.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parfeed is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any losses arising from reliance on the data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the [12] months preceding the claim.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or unlawful use. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. liability, billing for amounts owed) will survive.

8. Changes & governing law

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date. These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
